Hauser students recognize veterans
By From Bob Nobbe-
The Advanced Government Class was joined by the Hauser Choir, Hauser FFA and the HHS student body in honoring all who served. The program began with a welcome from Flat Rock-Hawcreek School Superintendent Shawn Price.
After welcoming area veterans and community, the American Legion Color Guard posted our nation's colors. The Hauser FFA provided a history of the Pledge of Allegiance and led the assembly in its recitation. Hauser student Chloe K. sang the Star Spangled Banner.
Post commander Bill Riley was the featured speaker at this year's program. Following his comments, the members of the Advanced Government class read letters and poems about veterans, dedicated a moment of silence to those who made the ultimate sacrifice and showed a video/music presentation featuring area veterans past and present. The Hauser Choir performed In Flanders Fields and A Tribute to the Armed Services.
Principal J.P. Mayer made closing remarks and each veteran in attendance was presented with a personal thank you and flower. The American Legion Color Guard retired the colors to bring the program to an official end.
We want to thank all those in attendance, especially our area veterans!
