Hauser teacher honored for hometown athletics


Hauser math teacher and former volleyball coach Jeanne Gordon was recognized Jan. 30th at her hometown high school as an inaugural member of the Winamac Athletic Hall of Fame.

Gordon is a 1980 graduate of Winamac High School and lettered in volleyball, basketball and track She was voted "Athlete of the Year" by her peers during her senior year.

Gordon went on to play basketball at Ball State University for four years and earned her teaching degree. She later received her master's degree in education from Indiana University.

Gordon has taught eighth-grade math at Hauser Jr-Sr High School for the last 30 years.

Gordon said her fondest memories of playing sports at Winamac were being part of a team for all four years in each sport and remembering all of the friendships she made and the fun they had.[[In-content Ad]]
