Historical Society to host Victorian fashion show Saturday
Petticoats, Bloomers, and Corsets, Oh My! The Bartholomew County Historical Society's newest fashion show, "The Victorians' Secret Collection," offers a revealing glimpse into the foundations of fashion underwear.
This show, held at the Haw Creek Heritage Center at 111 Aiken Street in Hope on April 11, will feature men's, women's and children's fashions during Queen Victoria's reign as well as the undergarments that gave the styles their unique shapes. More than 23 ensembles will be shown from 150 years of Indiana fashion.
Last year's program won the award for Best Historic Program from the Indiana Historical Society.
In addition to the show, guests can view original textile items from the society including pieces from our recently donated Nancy Heimlich lingerie collection and the Xenia Miller collection.
Light refreshments are included in the program. Show times will be 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Tickets are $25 per person ($20 for members) with advance reservations required.
Tickets can be ordered by phone at 812-372-3541 or in person at the Columbus downtown museum center or at the Haw Creek Heritage Center in Hope.
