Hope man arrested on drunk driving charges

On February 28, 2016, at approximately 6:11 a.m., Bartholomew County Sheriff's Deputy Leah Burton and Deputy Merrill Henderson were en route to 1056 W 625 S in reference to a reported stolen vehicle.
On arrival, Deputy Burton observed a white passenger car in the driveway of the residence. The vehicle then turned into the yard of a neighbor.
Deputy Burton stopped the vehicle and, while speaking to the driver, identified as Kainen Joe Carr, 27, 425 Aiken Street, Hope, IN, Deputy Burton noticed a strong odor of alcohol. Following further investigation, Mr. Carr was arrested for Operating a Motor Vehicle while Under the Influence.
Mr. Carr was taken to the Bartholomew County Jail and has since been released on $2,500 bond.
All persons are considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
