Hope United Methodist Church news for Feb. 17th

By From Carol Gardner-

The subject of Pastor Warren's sermon on Sunday was "Surviving our Wilderness Experiences."

It was a thought-provoking message, which said we all have some kind of adversity in our lives at one time or another, and as we deal with them, with the help of God, things always get better. The New Testament Scripture lesson was from Romans 10:8b-13, and the Gospel Lesson was from Luke 4:1-13.

HUMC will be serving the Community Meal at the Hope Moravian Church on Monday, February 22, at 4 p.m.

The trustees will be having a work day on Saturday, February 27 at 9 a.m. Come if you can, and help get the church ready for Easter. There is a list of suggested jobs in the Narthex and on the Bulletin Board. Pizza and sodas will be provided for those working past noon.

Our International Student Sunday will be February 28. We will be inviting the local exchange students and their host families to be our guests for worship, followed by a pitch-in meal in the Fellowship Hall.

The Pastor will begin a study after Easter about the different theological beliefs of the UMC.
