Hope United Methodist Church news for June 7th
By From Carol Gardner-
On June 11, Harry Lyness, a friend of Pastor Warren, will be bringing the message. Harry was awarded the Distinguished Evangelism Award for the UMC in 2015, being only the second lay person to receive this award.
Bryce Mize will be providing the message on June 18. Bryce is one of our church family and has brought the message to our congregation before. You will not want to miss it!
On June 25, Steven Gross and family will be with us to provide the message. They will update us on his family's missionary work in Haiti.
July 9 will be the first Sunday for our new pastor, Rev. Ed Cottrell, who will deliver communion. Rev. Cottrell comes to us from Maple Hill UMC. He and Lyla have been married 39 years, have three grown children and three grandchildren. They will be moving into the parsonage the week of June 19.
Vacation Bible School will be held at the Moravian Church on June 21, 22 and 23. It will be held during the day, not in the evenings.
We are still in need of Sunday School Teachers. Mark Thayer has made a challenge to the membership....if HUMC can get 5 new teachers, Mark will be the 6th!
