Hope United Methodist Church news for Sept. 12th
By From Carol Gardner-
Pastor Warren gave a very impressive sermon and told of the experience of being a part of the Honor Flight as a Guardian. Others were given the opportunity to speak, and each one who spoke gave their own recollections of that trip. A very emotional and meaningful time.
A reception was held in the Fellowship Hall following the service.
It was good to see friends and families whom we hadn't seen in a while!
The new Bible Study with David Webster is being held at the Library Annex on Fridays at 11 a.m. All are welcome.
On Sunday, Sept. 18th, the passing of the Bicentennial Torch will take place in our area. For information, there is a flyer in the Narthex and on the bulletin board.
Please remember to submit your input to Rodney or David regarding what you would like to see in a new pastor. This is in anticipation of Pastor Warren and Helen's retirement next spring.
Heritage Days Booth planning is well underway. Please contact Margie Lou if you can help in any way. Heritage Days will be Sept. 23,24 & 25.
PSST (Peanut Butter, Soup and Toiletries) along with warm items for the upcoming cold weather are needed for the homeless in our area.
Thanks to Claudia for being our organist for the past two years. We wish her the best!
