INDOT work to cause more delays on State Road 252
By Indiana Department of Transportation-
The Indiana Department of Transportation will be digging up and repaving the highway between the town of Flat Rock and the Flat Rock River's Lewis Creek bridge. That will lead to some traffic delays over the next few weeks.
State Road 252 is already closed between Interstate 65 and Flat Rock.
According to INDOT, contractors will begin pulverizing the asphalt on Saturday. They will then inject that with asphalt, compact and mill the material before adding another two inches of asphalt on top.
Milestone is the state's contractor for INDOT's $12 million rehabilitation project that is widening and reconstructing or resurfacing seven miles of State Road 252 between Interstate 65 and Flat Rock. The project includes bridge work at Lewis Creek and Flat Rock River, as well as replacement of numerous drainage structures.
In August, work will focus on driveway approaches, sidewalks, finish grading and completion of rehabilitation at the bridges.
In September, operations shift to the west end of the project-between I-65 and Flat Rock River.[[In-content Ad]]
