Press release

The School of Fine Arts & Design at Ivy Tech Community College Columbus has scheduled a series of education, leadership, and professional development sessions, titled ReTh!nk: Design That Matters.

The sessions focus on connecting critical thinking in art and design with an important issue in the Columbus community - the development of the State Street Corridor in East Columbus. The State Street Corridor project is designed to improve the functionality, walkability, and economic vitality of the area. The public is invited. Snacks and beverages will be provided.

The fifth session of this series is scheduled from noon until 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 19th, in the Summerville Room of the Columbus Learning Center, 4555 Central Avenue. CODO Design from Indianapolis will present their approach to brand development and working "shoulder to shoulder" with their clients in the creative process.

CODO will lead students in a creative exercise by dividing them into small groups and having them generate branding solutions for random hypothetical companies.

CODO Design is a branding and web design firm, based in Indianapolis. Since 2009, partners Isaac Arthur and Cody Fague have focused on working with the food and beverage industry, small businesses, and not-for-profits. CODO Design believes that a client's participation in the creative process is integral to a design's success. They have created effective and beautiful identity, package, web, and exhibition design for companies like 450 North Brewing Co., Piazza Produce, Metonymy Media, and Indy Food Council, among others.
