James Alan Lobdell, 50, of Hope


James Alan Lobdell, 50, of Hope died Saturday, Jan. 17th, 2015 at Columbus Regional Hospital as a result of a car accident.

He was self-employed as a mechanic and for several years worked at Jim's Garage, the family business.

He was a member of Hartsville Church of Christ.

He graduated from Hauser High School in the class of 1982.

The funeral will be Thursday, Jan. 22nd, at 11 a.m. at Norman Funeral Home in Hope with Mark Jacobs officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, Jan. 21st from 4 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be at Hawcreek Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be donated to Norman Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.

Born Oct. 2, 1964 in Columbus, he was the son of James Calvin and Mary Nell Elrod Lobdell who survive in Hope.

Other survivors include, children, Alisha M. Villarreal (Jimmy) of Hope, Kristopher A. Lobdell (Jenn) of Columbus, Kimberly D. Lobdell (Eddie) of Columbus, and Nickolas J. Lobdell (Whitnie)

of Hope; grandchildren, Ryanne, Camryn, Tryce, Kyson Villarreal, Kadin and Kian Lobdell, Brysyn Tungate, Kohlie and Kolins Lobdell; sisters, Patti VanGorden (Roger) of St. Louis Crossing and Kathy Cornn (Jeff) of Columbus.

James was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ernest and Anna Elrod and Harvey and Mary Lobdell; aunts, Peggy Tungate, Ernestine Kimball and Alice Lobdell and uncles, Richard Lobdell and Bill Elrod.[[In-content Ad]]
