Jerry Hill, 74, of Waynesville

Jerry Hill, 74, of Waynesville, died Wednesday Feb. 7th, 2018 at Schneck Medical Center.

He retired from General Motors after 32 years of employment. He was also a journeyman pipe fitter. He served in the U.S. Army from 1961 - 1964. Jerry was a member of the local 440 Plumber's Pipefitters Union and the Masonic Lodge in Jackson County.

He loved racing, especially dirt tracks, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Born Mar. 12, 1943 in Lebanon, KY, Jerry was the son of Otis and Mary Sullivan Hill. He married Dotty McCarty Dec. 24, 1964 and she survives.

Other survivors include, sons, Jerry D. Hill of North Vernon and Troy (Mindy) Hill of Columbus; grandchildren, Samantha (Pat) McGill of Indianapolis, Jerry "Cody" Hill of Greensburg, Noah Hill of North Vernon, Aubrey Hill of North Vernon and Clinton T. Hill (Hannah Denney) of Atlanta, GA and a sister, Rita Crouch of Bardstown, KY.

The funeral will be Saturday, Feb. 10th, at 2 p.m. at Norman Funeral Home in Hope with Rev. Randy McCarty officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from noon until service time at the funeral home. Burial with military graveside rites will be at Flat Rock Baptist Cemetery.
