Jets defeat Indian Creek in baseball

Hauser traveled to Indian Creek Thursday and came away with a 6-4 win.

After a scoreless first three innings the Jets finally broke through in the fourth. Senior Rory Thayer led off the inning with a bunt single. Junior Will Rose hit a sac fly to move Thayer over to third and Junior Nathan Branum hit a single left to drive Thayer in.

The Jets broke the game open jumping out to a 6-0 lead in the fifth. Sophomore Brandon Holt lead off the inning with an infield single. Sophomore Eric McMullen drove in Holt with a single to center, then McMullen scored on a ground rule double by Senior Brooks Bailey. Thayer followed up with another bunt single. Rose drove Bailey and Thayer in on a single to left and then Rose scored on a single by Senior Dalton McKinney to cap off the 5 run inning.

Indian Creek fought back in the bottom of the sixth when they hit a 3 run home run to make it a 6 to 4 game. Will Rose would pitch a scoreless 7th inning to preserve the win. Rory Thayer earned the win for the Jets while Rose picked up the save.

The Jets are now 11-5 on the season and 3-0 in the conference with a big conference game Saturday, May 9th, vs Knightstown at Hauser.
