Jets road ends in Martinsville
All starting with sectionals, regionals and then on to semi-states and state finals. That is no different for our beloved Hauser Jets.
For the Jets, that road ended Saturday at the regional round in Martinsville, with Indianapolis Lutheran defeating the Jets 66-60.
The Saints jumped out early in the first quarter knocking down several jump shots causing the Jets to play catch-up the entire game. Hauser's full court pressure was effective at times and pulled them within three points late in the game.
Unfortunately for the Jets, several easy field goal attempts from close range wouldn't fall as well as only making nine of 16 free throws hurt in the attempt at a comeback.
Juniors Alex Gross and Mason Sherman led the Jets in scoring with 15 each. Connor Wilson followed up with 13. Rounding out the Hauser scoring was Justin Compton with 8, Clayton Wilson 5, and AJ Titus 4.
Hundreds of Hauser Nation made the trip, most likely more fans than the other three teams combined. Over 100 Jet fans that couldn't make it joined our Facebook Live feed to watch. More fans tuned in to News Talk 1010 WCSI to hear Sam Simmermaker and Jonathan Titus call the game. Special thanks to them and Kevin Kelly for their support and coverage.
Hauser finishes the season with 16 wins and 10 losses. This was definitely a fun team to watch and made many great memories. It's always tough to see the seniors go, and want to thank them for their hard work and dedication to Hauser Athletics. We also wish them well after graduation. Senior members were: Owen Green, Pete Trotter, Clayton Wilson, and Connor Wilson.
Congratulations to coach Griff Roth and his staff for an outstanding job this year. Win or lose it's always great to be a Hauser Jet![[In-content Ad]]
