John D. "Ignats" Everroad, 54, Columbus

John D. "Ignats" Everroad, 54 of Columbus, formerly of Hope, died Thursday Nov. 19, 2015 at his home.

Years ago he was a mechanic for W.W. Auto in Hope.

He graduated from Hauser High School in 1979.

He was in the U.S. Army Reserves as a 972 combat engineer.

He had attended First Baptist Church of Hope and Bible Church of Columbus. He was a member of AAA.

He enjoyed fishing and hunting and cutting and fixing cars and rebuilding parts for cars.

Born Aug. 7, 1961 in Noblesville, IN, John was the son of Henry and Irene Blanchard Everroad.

The funeral will be Monday at 12 p.m. at Norman Funeral Home in Hope with Pastor Jerry Day, Sr. officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Hope Moravian Cemetery with military graveside rites performed by Bartholomew County Veteran's Honor Guard.

Memorial contributions may be donated to Bible Church of Columbus or Donor's Choice of Charity.

Survivors include sisters, Gloria (Paul) Dettmer of Columbus, Rosa (Maurice) Nicholson of Lynn, IN, Elizabeth "Liz" (Walter) Dean of Columbus and Juanita Everroad- Scott (Alvin) of Columbus;a brother,William "Leroy" Everroad of Columbus;an aunt, Mamie Grier of Fort Smith, Ark., 9 nieces, 5 nephews, 13 great nieces, 11 great nephews, 5 great-great nieces, 3 great-great nephews and several cousins.
