Mildred L. Sanders, 98, of Columbus
Before retirement, Mildred worked as a bookkeeper with Farmer's Marketing in Columbus and Harlan Engineering in Lakeland, FL, where she resided from 1956 until 1993. She then moved back to Columbus and resided at Four Seasons Retirement Center. She was a Columbus High School graduate with the class of 1938.
Mildred attended services at the Four Seasons Chapel.
She enjoyed doing counted cross-stitch. She won many Grand Champion awards at the Bartholomew County 4-H Fair with her counted cross-stitch.
Born on Nov. 29th, 1919 in Columbus, Mildred was the daughter of Martin and Eleanor Wiegman Hoeltke. She married Cloyd E. Sanders on Sept. 1st, 1940, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 13th, 2001.
Survivors include brother, Robert (Nellie) Hoeltke of Columbus; nieces, Sondra (Ron) Peters of Columbus and Nancy Bowers of South Carolina; nephews, Steve (Nikki) Ahlbrand of Columbia, Maryland and David (Vicki) Hoeltke of Columbus; and several great nieces and nephews.
Mildred is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her sister, Edna Ahlbrand.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 12th at 11 a.m. at the Four Seasons Chapel with Karen Hargett and Brian Peters officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until time of service on Tuesday at the Four Seasons Chapel. Burial will follow at Garland Brook Cemetery.
