Morris Edward "Eddie" James, 64, of Seminole, Fla., formerly of Vernon, passed away Friday, February 20th, 2015 at Bay Pines VA Healthcare System in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Honoring Eddie's wishes, a funeral service will not be held. The family is planning a Memorial/Celebration of Life Service to be held April 3rd, 2015 from 4-7 p.m. at the Vernon Gym on Washington St in Vernon, IN. A military tribute will take place at 5 pm.

Born on September 6th, 1950, in Seymour, IN, Mr. James was the son of the late Morris and Eileen James. He married his beloved wife, LuAnne Finke, of Hope, on September 15th, 2012 in Seminole, Florida. She survives.

Eddie grew up in Vernon and attended Jennings County High School. He chose to enlist in the United States Army, and proudly served his country from 1969-1971. Eddie fought in the Vietnam War, were he was a gunner for Medivac. He worked at Toyota, in Columbus, for almost 14 years, where he worked his way up to a team leader of the paint department. He left Toyota and followed his dream by moving to Florida. He was most recently employed by The City of Largo where he drove a dump truck.

In his spare time, Eddie loved to go to the beach, watch the Tampa Bay Rays, and most importantly, spend time with his wife, LuAnne, at their favorite restaurant on Reddington Beach, Friendly's Tavern. He loved Elvis and had lots of memorabilia that he collected over the years.

In addition to his wife, Eddie is survived by his 3 children, Shane (Steve) Combest, Shad (Julie) James, Jesse (Alba) James and his first wife and mother of his children, Wanda James. He also leaves behind his beloved sister Patty (Denny) Brandenburg, brother Leland Roe (Shirley) James; 14 grandchildren, Dylan, Cody, Breana, Logan, Colton, Tyler, Nick, Cameron, Jacob, Lexi, Monique, Marissa, Raymond, and Austin; 4 great-grandchildren, Zadyn, Carter, Carson and Landon; his sisters-in-law Brenda (Larry) Lucas, Karen Yarnell, and Lynne (Jim)Cook; mother-in-law, Mary Grace Miller ; several nieces and nephews, Kay (Bobby) Stearns, Karen "Shorty" (Steve "Doc") Thayer, Kathy (Bob) Hopkins, Kevin Boyd, Mary Ellen (Paul) Kelly, John James, Lee (Linda) James, Lindsey James, and Dawn (David) Bruno.

He is preceded in death by both of his parents, father-in-law Jim Miller, his older brother Gene James, and niece Kim Foist.[[In-content Ad]]
