Plane crash near Anderson Falls kills pilot

A Michigan pilot died Wednesday afternoon after his small plane crashed into a tree line near Anderson Falls during takeoff.

Ren Sagaert, 77, of Shelby Township, Michigan died in the crash at about 12:52 p.m. in the 20900 block of East

County Coroner Clayton Nolting says that Sagaert was the pilot and sole occupant of the plane, a 1940s model Temco Swift, when it crashed.

An autopsy is scheduled for today.

The crash is being investigated by the Bartholomew County Sheriff's Office, Indiana State Police and the Federal Aviation Administration.[[In-content Ad]]
