Robert Junior Roberts, 80, Columbus
He had previously been employed as a police officer for Hope and Greensburg, worked at Kenny Glass for 42 years and was presently a paper carrier for The Republic.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Norman Funeral Home in Hope with Pastor Eli Johnson officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and one hour prior to service time Tuesday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery with military graveside rites.
Memorial contributions may be donated to Diabetes Association or American Heart Association through the funeral home.
Born Jan. 13th, 1935 in Lewisburg, Tenn,, Robert was the son of Doris Charles Roberts and Laura Elizabeth Kiel Roberts. He married Ruby Kinney Sinclair Roberts on Aug. 1st, 1998 and she survives.
Other survivors include children, Hester Louden of Columbus, Laura (Bobby) Wagner of Spencer, Frances "Frankie"(Loyd) Abbott of Columbus, Dennis (Brenda) Roberts of Columbus, Jonathan (Cindy) Sinclair of Shelbyville, Debra "Debbie" (Paul) Jacobs of Shelbyville and Shirley (Mike) Phillips of Shelbyville; 49 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; brothers, Terry Roberts of Bloomington, Doug Roberts of Naples, FL and Tim Roberts of Columbus; and sisters, Sherry Bill of Bloomington and Flossie Sanders of Elizabethtown.
Robert loved to play cards, watch gameshows and spend time with the family.
