Sheriff seeks applicants for youth academy

Registration is underway for for the 2016 Bartholomew County Sheriff's Youth Academy.

The Youth Academy is designed to provide Bartholomew County youths, ages 6-14, the opportunity to gain insight into the everyday functions and training of local law enforcement agencies.

The curriculum will include daily drills, hands on learning, demonstrations from specialized units such as Water Rescue & Scuba, Bomb Squad, SWAT and K-9 among others.

This year will include a 2-day camp, June 2-3, for 6-9 year olds and a 4-day camp, June 7-10, for 10-14 year olds. Cost for the 2-day camp is $25 per child and the 4-day camp is $35 per child.
