Sheriff sponsors poster contest for Crime Prevention Month

October is Crime Prevention Month.

If you are a Bartholomew County K-6 student, posters may be dropped off during regular business hours, Oct. 2 through Oct. 31, at the Bartholomew County Jail. Posters may also be mailed to: Crime Prevention Poster, Bartholomew County Jail, 543 Second Street, Columbus, IN 47201-6713.

The deadline for submitting a poster is Oct. 31, at 5 p.m.

Students, please include your name, school, grade and telephone number on the back of their poster.

Posters should be on 8 ½ X 11 paper and must reflect a Crime Prevention theme. A variety of mediums will be accepted: pen, pencil, colored pencil, crayon, paint, felt pen. No computer generated works please.

Winners will be selected by BCSO's command staff and the winner (or winners) will be announced on or before Nov.r 9. The winning student(s) will have his/her photograph taken with Sheriff Matt Myers and posters will be displayed in BCJ's administrative offices.
