Tennis team takes MHC championship
By From Jan Meek-
Most of these boys had never picked up a racket prior to that summer. The first few practices are usually rough, but in time, the boys grow and mature as young men and as players.
This past season, the Hauser tennis team (10-2) has been quite successful. Senior Sam Meek (9-3) is #1 singles for the 2nd year in a row. Senior Justin Compton (9-3) is #2 singles and Junior Sean Miller (10-2) is #3 singles. #1 doubles consists of Seniors Alex Gross and Jacob Johnson (10-2) and #2 doubles comprises of Junior Jacob Luken and Sophomore Ethan Wallace (12-0).
For the 2nd year in a row, the team is Mid-Hoosier Conference Champs (4-0). At the MHC tournament last weekend, Hauser had six of their players named All Conference. This is the first time in 7 years that Hauser has had an All-Conference player.
Though the season will be ending soon with sectionals next week and five previously timid freshmen will hang their rackets up for the last time, they will do so with confidence and satisfaction with all of their accomplishments in the past couple of years.
Congratulations to the tennis team on an awesome season so far and good luck in the next week as you finish your season.
