William (Bill) A. Ponder, 77, of Hope
Bill worked at General Electric in Shelbyville for 22 years and retired from Cosco in 2000. He served in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1961.
Bill was a member of the American Legion, Moose Lodge, and National Rifle Association. He enjoyed guns and was a benchrest shooter.
Born on March 4, 1940 in Detroit, Bill was the son of Jewell Ponder and Mildred Jeanette Hamilton Gipson. He married Marva Graham on Jan. 27, 1979, and she survives.
Other survivors include daughters, Terri Hawkins of Scipio and Janet (Jerry) Day of Columbus; step-children, Kim Hart of Indianapolis, Annette (Tom) Wayant of Columbus, and David C. (Candy Fivecoat) Graham of Columbus; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and sister, Carol (Mike) Stafford of Peoria, Ariz.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents.
A funeral service will be held Friday, Oct. 6th at 11 a.m. at Norman Funeral Home with Pastor Jerry Day officiating. Viewing will be from 9 a.m. until time of service. Burial will follow at Hope Moravian Cemetery.
