Yellow Trail Museum to be the new home for Hope visitors center

By By Barb [email protected]

The Yellow Trail Museum will soon be the host site for a new Visitors' Information Center for Hope in partnership with the Columbus Area Visitors Center.

This new site will require a paid staff member to staff the center and to keep the Yellow Trail Museum open many more hours than we are able to do at this time with volunteers.

That means we are looking for one or possibly two people to work at this new job. The person in this position will need to be one that likes to talk to the public, is willing to add some information to his/her knowledge of our community, can use a computer fairly well, can do Facebook, and is not afraid to say, "I don't know, but let me see if I can find out for you."

The purpose of this job is to welcome the public, encourage them to learn about the Hope community, help them find interesting things to see and do in our community, and to help them extend their visit and hopefully find a place to stay to continue exploring Bartholomew County. We also want to encourage people to shop, eat, and maybe even look into housing or business opportunities in our area.

Hope has a very unique heritage and there are many interesting stops in our town and other small towns nearby. We need to "blow our own horn" and look for ways to create more tourism here.
