Randy Hathaway, 66, formerly of Hope

Randy Hathaway, 66, of Speedway, formerly of Hope, died Monday, July 30, 2018 at Eagle Valley Meadows in Indianapolis.

Randy was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Greenwood and had attended Hope United Methodist Church. He had previously sang in a barbershop quartet. He enjoyed collecting jewelry. Randy was very social and had many friends. He was a very kind and generous person.

Born on Feb. 24, 1952 in Columbus, Randy was the son of Gerald and Marjorie Louise Miller Hathaway. He married Deborah Petro and she preceded him in death.

Survivors include brother, Brad (Brenda) Hathaway of New Palestine; nieces, Tamsma (Harper) Apted of Palestine and Alari (Christopher) Trueblood of Cumberland; great-nieces, Brooklyn and Jasmine Apted of Palestine and Athena, Melody, Chloe, and Lily Trueblood of Cumberland; cousins, Margie Lou Boilanger of Hope, Kimberly Stephens of New Baden, Illinois, Tim Thayer of Hope, and Gordon Thayer of Alabama; and best friends, David Bruner of Hope, Bob Clem of Greenwood, and Mark Harvie of Speedway.

Randy is preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

Cremation is planned and a graveside service will take place at a later date at Hope Moravian Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in Memphis.
