Press Release

The Yellow Trail Museum has hired a full-time museum manager, Lizzie Flora.

The manager will be taking care of daily operations, collaborating with the board on the development of exhibits and programs, working on projects like the Research Library's online exhibit about the Mail Carrier Museum, cataloging the museum's collection and ensuring proper preservation, and being the public face of the museum.

The Yellow Trail Museum has been around for decades and has always been a volunteer-run organization, which it still is. The Museum has made some major changes in recent years. The first being the expansion of the museum's gallery space and, more recently, the opening of the Research Library. Two years ago, the Museum began a greatly successful partnership with the Columbus Area Visitors Center as a satellite location and hired part-time staff.

Flora is a graduate of the University of Evansville with a degree in archaeology and art history. She comes to the Yellow Trail Museum from the Indiana State Museum and has worked with several other museums as well. She will work alongside Barb Johnson, who has essentially been the museum director for years, upon Johnson's return from medical leave.

The Yellow Trail Museum Board is very excited to have someone with her expertise and skills on the team.
