Hope awarded grant for road repairs
The Town of Hope was recently awarded nearly $184,000 to repave community streets.
In November, the governor's office announced that the town would receive $183,964 for the project. The total project cost will be $245,285, according to town officials.
Streets on the project list include:
- Jackson, Main to Harrison
- Washington, Main to Harrison
- Washington, Harrison to Community Center
- Mill, Race to Vine
- High, Aiken to Union
- Locust, Race to Main
- Harrison, Jackson to Washington
According to Town Manager J.T. Doane, since 2016 about 52% of the town's streets will be paved by the end of next year's project. Doane said the town has successfully secured $452,800 through the Community Crossing Matching Grants since fall of 2016.
