Dallas L. Brinker, 73, of Greensburg

Dallas L. Brinker, 73, of Greensburg, formerly of Columbus, passed away at 4:36 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, 2018 at Decatur County Memorial Hospital.

Dallas was born July 18, 1945 to Orville Brinker and Freeda Mahoney Brinker. He was happily married for 41 years to Sharon K. Brinker on June 6, 1971 and she passed away on February 11, 2013.

Dallas was a Navy veteran and was previously employed at Standard Grocery for 19 years and retired from Cummins Engine Company. He enjoyed going to Las Vegas and attending his grandchildren’s activities.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, December 6, 2018 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Virgil Clotfelter officiating. Calling will be from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Burial will be at Bethel Baptist Cemetery with military honors by the Bartholomew County Veterans Honor Guard.

Memorial contributions may be made to Parkinson’s Disease.

Dallas is survived by his son, Joseph (Brande) Brinker of Columbus; daughters, Michelle (Brian) Vermillion of Hope and Misty (Anthony) Wolfe of Columbus; grandchildren, Jacob Bunch, Caleb Orlich, Carson Wolfe, Dylan Siler, Jolie Wolfe, Colin Wolfe, Derek Rhude and Brianna Vermillion.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon; father, Orville Brinker and his mother, Freeda Cochram.
