Hope man arrested in Columbus

A Hope man was arrested Friday evening after he was observed at approximately 5:20 p.m. walking near Hege Avenue and Kentucky Avenue in Columbus.
The officers reported that the man quickly looked at the ground after he observed the officer’s patrol vehicle. The man was positively identified as Derek B. Woodson, 40, and the officers confirmed two warrants for his arrest. Woodson was taken into custody without incident and the officers reportedly located methamphetamine in his clothing while searching him.
Woodson was transported to the Bartholomew County Jail on the following preliminary charges:
- Two Bartholomew County Warrants
- Possession of Methamphetamine
