Hope woman arrested on drug charges

On July 3rd at about 12:18 pm, Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Deputy Brent Worman observed a vehicle traveling southbound on East State Road 46 make an abrupt turn west onto East County Road 100N.
The vehicle then turned into a residence on the south side of 100N. After verifying the vehicle did not belong to the residence and the driver did not have a valid driver’s license, Deputy Worman returned to the residence and made contact with the driver identified as Meredith L. Garris, 46, 426 Harrison Street, Hope. During the investigation, deputies located methamphetamine and paraphernalia.
Garris was arrested and taken to the Bartholomew County Jail on preliminary charges of:
- Possession of Methamphetamine
- Possession of Paraphernalia
She has since been released.
All persons are considered innocent until/unless proven guilty in a court of law.
