Charles Robert “Bob” Rose, 78, of Hope

Charles Robert “Bob” Rose, 78, of Hope, died Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at his home.

Before retirement, Bob worked at Cummins. He was a founding charter member of Chapel of the Good Shepherd. While he was ill and unable to attend church, he enjoyed watching In Touch Ministries. Bob served in the Reserve National Guard

He enjoyed watching sports, especially the Pacers, Reds, and IU. He liked listening to gospel music and reading the Bible. Bob really enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Born on May 27, 1940 in Old St. Louis Crossing, Bob was the son of Stanley and Frances Lavae Isley Rose. He married Fonda Faye Gabriel on September 29, 1962, and she survives.

Other survivors include children, Randy Rose of Hope, Vicki (Tim Voils) Hiatt of Hope, Mark (Jennifer) Rose of Edinburgh, and Brayden Rose of Hope; grandchildren, Rachel, Robin, and Robert Hiatt, Lindsey Roy, Haley Rose, and Summer McCleery; seven great-grandchildren; and siblings, Bill (Loretta) Rose of Hope and Rita (Glenn) Adams of Panama City, FL.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents; brother, George Rose; and sister-in-law, Donna Rose.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Norman Funeral Home. Visitation will be Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Burial will follow at Flat Rock Baptist Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Food Pantry through the Community Center of Hope.
