Hope hosting statewide community group today

People from across the state will be talking about historic preservation in the town of Hope starting this morning.

The year's second Main Street Community Exchange will start at 8:30 a.m. today at WiLLow LeaVes of Hope. The event is put together by the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs along with the Indiana Department of Natural Resources and organized by Main Street of Hope.

The topic of this community exchange will be historic preservation, restoration and finding funding for historic properties.

Susan Thayer Fye and Ed Johnson will host a half hour discussion of Hope history starting at 9:15 a.m. Other presentations will include Louis Joyner, a Columbus based architect talking about modernism in historic downtowns and restrictive covenants for real estate sales. That session will be from 10:45 to 11:30 a.m.

The event is scheduled to end at 3 p.m.

The event is open to the public. Tickets are $30 and can be bought through eventbrite.com
