Paving to disrupt traffic on State Road 9

The Indiana Department of Transportation is announcing traffic pattern changes on State Road 9 between Broadway Street in Shelbyville and the Shelby/Bartholomew county line for continued pavement work.
Traffic Shift between Broadway and Colescott streets in Shelbyville
Beginning Friday, June 29 at 7 p.m., traffic will switch from two-way traffic (northbound and southbound) to only southbound traffic for 15 days. Traffic is anticipated to resume two-way traffic flow on July 14. Local access will be maintained during this traffic shift.
Traffic Shift between Hasecuster Lane and Shelby/Bartholomew county line
Beginning Friday, June 29 at noon, traffic will switch from only southbound traffic to two-way traffic (northbound and southbound) for 25 days. Traffic is expected to resume only southbound traffic on July 23 between County Road 750 S and the Shelby/Bartholomew county line. Local access will be maintained during this traffic shift.
INDOT awarded Milestone Contractors a $10.3 million contract to replace or resurface pavement on more than 12 miles of State Road 9.
The road construction project will include:
• Full-depth pavement repairs from Broadway Street (State Road 44) in Shelbyville to the Bartholomew County line
• Resurfacing asphalt pavement from Broadway Street to McKinley Street in Shelbyville
• Applying a thin concrete overlay from McKinley Street to the Bartholomew County line
• Replacing storm sewer, concrete curb and gutter, and sidewalk
