Joseph L. “Joe” Robertson, 77, of Columbus

Joseph L. “Joe” Robertson, 77, of Columbus, passed away at his home on Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2018.

Born January 13, 1942 in Columbus, Joe was the son of Harry and Mary Whittington Robertson.

He married Bonita K. Hunter Robertson and she preceded him in death in February of 1987. He then married Carolyn Martin and she preceded him in death in 2000. His companion of 12 years Patti Hannan of Michigan preceded him in death in May of 2017.

Joe was a lifelong farmer and retired in 1989. For the past 25 years he was a truck driver for Palmer Brothers Trucking. In his younger years, he drove a truck for Community Grain.

He is survived by a son, Matt (Cathy) Robertson of Hope; a step-daughter, Rita (Jake) Herron Croucher of Ninevah; a granddaughter, Shelbi Robertson of Hope; and a sister, Thelma Jacobs of Portland, Oregon.

The funeral will be Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Norman Funeral Home in Hope with pastor Tim Dillingham officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. and Monday one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery.

Joe loved to drive semis, watch sports, and NASCAR. He also loved his chihuahua, Sugar.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents; two wives; a brother Thomas Robertson; a nephew, Tommy Robertson; and his companion.
