Erma Lucille Nasby Franklin, 91, of Columbus

Erma spent her life as a homemaker and helped her husband, Robert with carpenter work and building cabinets. She was a member of Berean Bible Church and Home Ec Club. She was very involved in helping in the church. Erma enjoyed doing crafts, and gardening flowers and vegetables.

Born on October 4, 1927 in Prairie Elk in McCone County, Montana, Erma was the daughter of Sigurd K. and Velma Lee Taylor Nasby. She married Robert Lewis Franklin on April 19, 1946, and he preceded her in death on November 10, 2001.

Survivors include children, Beverly Franklin of Eubank, Kentucky, Mark L. (Lori Sue) Franklin of Columbus, and Rana Franklin of Columbus; grandchildren, Jericho Blanton, RaiShell (Robert A.) Barkes, Mark A. (Kristen) Franklin-Fields, Amberly K. Franklin, and Tavish R. (Brooklyn Moore) Franklin-Hoagland; great-grandchildren, Jessie D. Burton, Chrishonna M. Barkes, Ethan Fields, Carly Fields, Nikya Franklin, and Jalen Villarreal; six great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Virgil L. (Irma) Nasby of Knightstown, Delma R. (Deena) Nasby of Greenfield, and Sebert L. (Carol) Nasby of Franklin; sisters, Gana C. Worgum of Brown County, Nora M. Dailey of Columbus, and Donna M. (James B.) Knowles of Manchester, Georgia; sister-in-law, Jane Nasby of Columbus; and 41 nieces and nephews.

Erma is preceded in death by half-brother, Erling S. (Margit) Nesbo; brothers, Clifford (Evelyn) Nasby, James (Catherine) Nasby, and Maxwell L. Nasby; and six nieces and nephews.

A service will be held on Tuesday at 2 p.m. at New Zion United Methodist Church, S 550 W Columbus, IN 47201 with Pastor Jerry Day Sr. officiating. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. until time of service on Tuesday. Burial will follow at New Zion Cemetery.
