Donald C. Bailey, 78, of Columbus

Donald C. Bailey, 78, of Columbus, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2018 at IU Health Methodist Hospital.

Before retirement, Donald worked in building maintenance at Golden Foundry. He was a member of St. Louis Crossing Independent Methodist Church.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being outdoors. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Born on Sept. 14, 1940, Donald was the son of Earl Bailey and Helen Warren Milby. He married Lucille “Lucy” Caldwell on May 27, 1961, and she survives.

Other survivors include children, Randy (Mary) Bailey of Hope, Gary (Lisa) Bailey of Hope, and Melissa (Brian) Rose of Columbus; grandchildren, Bryan (Arica) Bailey of Hope, Justin (Lakeesha) Bailey of Columbus, Sarah Bailey of Hope, Emily (Eric) Brown of Hope, Will (Erynn Shaw) Rose of Columbus, Jacob Rose, and Carson Rose, both of Columbus; great-grandchildren, Hayden Stoddard, Beau, Hope, and Ezra Bailey, all of Hope, Gavin and Arrow Bailey of Columbus, and Logan and Evan Brown of Hope; three sisters; four brothers; and uncle, Huston (Linda) Bailey of Havana, IL.

Donald is preceded in death by his parents; and one brother.

A funeral service will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. at Norman Funeral Home with Scott Stewart and Tim Dillingham officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Flat Rock Baptist Cemetery.
