Kenneth D. “Lard” Burton, 84, of Greensburg, died Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2018 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
Before retirement, Kenneth worked as a truck driver for Cummins. He served in the Army Reserves.
Kenneth attended First Christian Church in Greensburg. He was a member of Power of the Past in Greensburg, Bartholomew County Saddle Club, and St. Louis Crossing Community Center.
Kenneth enjoyed rabbit and coon hunting, going to auctions, and hammer collecting.
Born on March 8, 1934 in Shelby County, Kenneth was the son of Archie and Thelma Clark Burton. He married Dorothy Lehman on June 10, 2000 and had spent 39 years together.
Survivors include wife, Dorothy of Greensburg; children, Mike (Lisa) Burton of Flat Rock, Gary (Pat) Burton of Columbus, Jennie Goggin of Shelbyville, Debra (Jim) Whitacre of Waldron, Richard (Laurie) Justus of Greensburg, and Brian (Amy) Lovins of Bloomington; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and siblings, James (Carolyn) Burton of Venice, FL, Donald (Jeannie) Burton of Hope, and Dianna (Bill) Bennett of Santee, CA.
Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents; son, Billy Justus; grandson, Johnathan Stoddard; great-granddaughter, Olivia Butler; and sister, Patsy Barker.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Norman Funeral Home. Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Milford Cemetery.
