Jack R. McIntyre, 90, of Shelbyville
Jack R. McIntyre, 90, of Shelbyville, died Friday, November 29, 2019 at Ashford Place Health Campus.
Before retirement Jack was employed at Farmers Home Administration. He served in the United States Army as a corporal.
Jack was a member of Lewis Creek Baptist Church, Norristown Masonic Lodge, and American Legion Post 70. He was a member of the Order of DeMolay and received the Cross of Honor. He served as a Lifetime Deacon at Lewis Creek Baptist Church.
Jack enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and golf.
Born on May 7, 1929 in Shelbyville, Jack was the son of Raymond and Mildred Smith McIntyre. He married Betty Ann Drake on September 2, 1949 in Flat Rock, and she preceded him in death on October 8, 1994.
Survivors include children, Jacquelyn (Joe) Runnebohm of Waldron, Joni (Gary) DeBaun of Blue Ridge, Jan (William) Hitchcock of Shelbyville, and Scott (Angel) McIntyre of Edinburgh; grandchildren, Garrett DeBaun, Ashley DeBaun, Brooke Allen, Ross McIntyre, Ali McIntyre, Matthew Runnebohm, Chris Runnebohm, Carrie Barton, and exchange student, Eveline Hesse from Switzerland; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and sister, Darlene Wertz of Indianapolis.
Jack is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty; and sister, Doris McIntyre.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Lewis Creek Baptist Church with Pastor Harvey Taylor officiating. Visitation will be from noon until time of service at the church. Burial will follow at Lewis Creek Cemetery with military graveside rites being conducted by Post 70 Honor Committee.
