Sheriff's office offering training on railroad safety

By Bartholomew County Sheriff's Department-

Bartholomew County Sheriff's Deputy Andrew Whipker recently completed training for a train/railroad safety program called "Operation Lifesaver".

According to information from the group a person is hit by a train in America, roughly every three hours. The program seeks to educate the public on how to prevent collisions on and around railroad tracks and train crossings.

The sheriff's department says Whipker is now available to give presentations to local groups including businesses, organizations, schools and clubs.

To schedule a presentation, call the Bartholomew County Sheriff's Department at 812-379-1650.
