Anthony “Tony” Hillen, 69, of Columbus

Anthony “Tony” Hillen, 69, of Columbus died Wednesday Jan. 16, 2019 at Silver Oaks Health Facility.

Before retirement Tony was employed as a custodian at Columbus Regional Hospital and before that, at Cross Cliff Elementary.

He was a member of Community Church of Columbus, NRA and a lifetime member of The Creation Museum.

He enjoyed teaching Sunday school, and reading biographies and History and studying the different languages in the Bible.

Born Nov. 21, 1949 in Jennings County, Tony was the son of Leo and Margaret Kuntz Hillen. He married Linda Trowbridge October 7, 1982 and she survives.

Other survivors include a son, Anthony James “Jamie” (Stephani) Hillen; a daughter, Nicole Hillen; grandchildren, Christina (Jacob) Brekke, Alex Brekke, Samantha (Gilbert) Modlin and Sully Billhimer; great grandchildren, Lilly Modlin and Sean Henry Brekke; siblings, Dana (Mary) Hillen, Tami (Tim) Brown, Mary (James) Vincent, Frances (Rob) Leonard, Ann (John) Compton, Margaret Fouts, John (Kathy) Hillen and Charlie Hillen.

To follow Tony’s wishes, cremation took place. There will be a memorial visitation Saturday Jan. 26, 2019 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Community Church of Columbus. At 1 p.m.  there will be a celebration of Tony’s life with his brother John Hillen speaking.

Tony was preceded in death by his parents.
