Deputy and police dog to retire this week

Bartholomew County Sheriff Matthew A. Myers announces the retirement of veteran deputy sheriff, Sgt. Kris Weisner, and police dog Bolt.
Weisner has served the department and the citizens of Bartholomew County for 36 years. He worked his way through the ranks from jailer, to process server to currently serving as a merit deputy sheriff and police dog handler in the department's road patrol division.
Myers said that Sgt. Weisner has served with distinction.
“He has made a lasting contribution to Bartholomew County and to our agency,” the sheriff said.
Myers asks all Bartholomew County residents to honor Weisner and Bolt for their many years of outstanding service.
“I want to personally thank Deputy Weisner for his outstanding achievements while serving the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office," Myers said. "Kris’s professionalism and expertise greatly enhanced the readiness of those who worked with and around him”. “Kris is a true public servant”.
Weisner and Bolt will be presented with retirement badges during a special ceremony on Jan. 31st.
