Hartsville man arrested after Sunday crash

On April 28th, at approximately 10:pm, Bartholomew County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a traffic accident with injury. A passenger in a vehicle suffered a dislocated elbow as a result of an accident.The driver, Michael A. Henson, 33, Hartsville, who showed signs of impairment, was combative and made several threats to harm officers on scene. A search warrant for a blood sample was obtained and, after leaving Columbus Regional Hospital, Henson continued to resist and threaten officers.
He was taken to the Bartholomew County Jail on preliminary charges of:- Operating a vehicle while intoxicated – prior conviction,
- Intimidation
- Resisting Law Enforcement
"All BCSO deputies and CPD officers on scene did a great job remaining calm with Henson as they dealt with his combative behavior and numerous threats for nearly four hours," said Deputy Andrew Dougan, the primary deputy on scene.
Henson remains in BCJ in lieu of $27,000 bond.
All persons are considered innocent until/unless proven guilty in a court of law.
