Marilyn S. Foist, 81, of Columbus
Marilyn S. Foist, 81, of Columbus, passed away Friday, May 24, 2019 at her home.
Marilyn retired from being a bus monitor for Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation. She had also worked at Northrop King.
She was a member of Waynesburg Christian Church, Moose Lodge, and Eagles. Marilyn enjoyed gardening, mowing the grass, and going to tractor pulls. She really enjoyed being with her family and grandchildren.
Born on February 18, 1938 in Terre Haute, Marilyn was the daughter of Clarence and Emma Kleckner Privett. She married Carroll Foist on July 20, 1956, and he survives.
Other survivors include children, Timothy Foist of Indianapolis, Troy (Beth) Foist of Columbus, and Tammy Barriger of Columbus; grandchildren, Eric Foist of Indianapolis, Brittany (Adam) Moorman of Brownsburg, Braxton and Avery Foist of Columbus, and Brad Pickering; great-grandchildren, Mckenzie Moorman of Brownsburg, Cali Foist of Indianapolis, and Kayla Pickering; siblings, Jack O. (Joan) Privett of Franklin and Carol Ann Garrison of Franklin.
Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jimmy Privett; son-in-law, Dennis Barriger; and daughter-in-law, Paula Foist.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Norman Funeral Home with David Burnett and Jay Vanderburr officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Flat Rock Baptist Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to Waynesburg Christian Church or Bartholomew County 4-H Fairgrounds.
