Christmas of Yesteryear returns to Town Square Friday

By By Barb [email protected]

This is a reminder that this Friday, Nov. 22, will be Christmas of Yesteryear on the Hope Town Square.

From 5 to 8:30 p.m. that evening, we will have the usual activities like a bake sale, crafts, and cookie decorating at the Yellow Trail Museum. We will also offer a trip back in time, starting at Norman's Cabin, to visit characters from the past in Hope on Christmas Eve of their era.

We will offer a ride on a tractor-pulled people mover to make these visits, with each ride costing $1 and with the money going as a donation to Greensburg's Power of the Past who will be providing the people movers for us. Beginning at 5:30 p.m., children may visit with Santa at Sweet Chiropractic. At 6:30 and 7:30 p.m., there will be a live Nativity in the shelterhouse in the square.

Shops will be open late and visitors are encouraged to pick up a ticket and any purchases made that evening can be recorded on the ticket. Those who spend at least $25 at one or various shops, can enter his/her ticket in a drawing for a $75 gift certificate to the store of their choice.

Throughout the evening you will be entertained by strolling carolers.

And if you have been one of the donors of baked goods for the bake sale, in the past, we would encourage you to provide a delicious item for this sale.

But the best part is that you enjoy the company of friends and family as we start the Christmas season in our community. Come join us.

Questions can be addressed to Barb at 812-371-7969 or Lizzie at the museum at 812-546-8020.
