James M. Griffin, 59, of Elwood
James M. Griffin, 59, of Elwood, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2019 at his home.
James retired from painting after over 30 years. He served in the United States Army as a paratrooper.
James enjoyed watching movies, listening to music, and being with his grandchildren. He was a caring person who loved to help people.
Born on Nov. 19, 1959 in Rushville, James was the son of Jefferson R. and Bernice L. Hull Griffin.
Survivors include children, Elizabeth Griffin of Columbus, Jamie (Patrick Ayers) Mahon of Shelbyville, Codey Snyder of Shelbyville, and Casey Snyder of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Gabrielle and Caleb Griffin, Christian, Gianni, Shiley, and Nova Mahon, and Pierce, Jaida, and Everleigh Snyder; brothers, Frank, Richard, John, Danny, David, and Jeff Griffin; and sisters, Bernice Byrd and Isabel Goodlow.
James is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Barbara Griffin, Joy Lofton, Brenda Dixie, and Donna Cowin; and grandson, Dylan Joel Mahon.
Cremation is planned. A visitation will be Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Norman Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be given to help with funeral expenses.
