Robert C. "Cole" Morgan, 22, Bartholomew County

By Neal & Summers Funeral and Cremation Center-

Robert C. “Cole” Morgan, 22 years young, gained his heavenly wings at 12:35 AM on Sunday, October 13, 2019 after fighting for his life for the past three months and twelve days following an automobile accident on July 1st. He was born in Martinsville, Indiana, on Tuesday, September 23, 1997 to Robert Paul and Tiffany Dawn (Guy) Morgan.

Cole lived all of his life in Bartholomew County where he attended school, had lifelong friends, was a member of FFA and 4-H. He went to Hauser High School through his sophomore year and then enrolled in the C-4 program and transferred to Columbus North High School, graduating in 2016 with his welding certification.

Cole was a welder at DEEM LLC in Indianapolis, where he was a dedicated employee who loved his job and co-workers. In addition to welding, Cole loved to hunt, ride 4-wheelers, fish, golf and auto mechanics. He was known by his family and close friends to have had an ‘Old Soul’; always helping others and being protective of his family. He valued time spent with family and never missed family get-togethers, regardless of anything!

Cole will be missed deeply and fondly remembered by so many including his mother, who was by his side for the past 104 days, Tiffany Morgan (Dan Smith) of Ellettsville, IN; three brothers, Derek Wingler of Scott Air Force Base in Illinois, Jesse (Emily) Morgan of Rochelle, IL and Jamie (Marissa) Morgan of Compton, IL; three sisters, Lindsey Morgan of Indianapolis, Josie Morgan (Alex Kuss) of Byron, IL and Baylee Smith of Ellettsville, IN; maternal grandparents, Janet and Mike Telfer of Martinsville; paternal grandmother, Norma Morgan of Irving, TX; three nephews, Briar, Mason and Eugene Morgan and his fiancé, Claudia Lee of Columbus, IN.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Paul Morgan.

A service celebrating Cole’s life will be at the funeral home in Columbus on Thursday, October 17th beginning at 1:00 pm and he will be laid to rest following the service in Flatrock Baptist Cemetery in Columbus, Indiana.
