Jesse Ray Tedder, 79, of Columbus

Jesse Ray Tedder, 79, of Columbus, passed away Saturday, August 31, 2019 at Miller’s Merry Manor.

Jesse retired from Cummins after 34 years. He enjoyed playing golf, softball, and volleyball. He was an avid Hauser sports fan.

Born on August 26, 1940 in Adair County, KY, Jesse was the son of Silas A. and Nettie Ham Tedder. He married Janet Kay Moore on October 6, 1961, and she survives.

Other survivors include sons, Johnny (Becky) Tedder and Jim (Tabetha) Tedder, both of Hope; grandchildren, Nicole (Chad) Miller of Hope, Aleah (Davis) Smith of Hope, Anthony (Danielle) Tedder of Columbus, Elizabeth, Emily, and Sarah Tedder, all of Hope, and Nicole and Carly Beeker of Hope; sisters, Nannie Knifley of Campbellsville, KY and Mary Ann Talbott of Madison; and brothers, Troy (Beverly) Tedder of Hope and Roy Lee (Laurene) Tedder of Campbellsville, KY.

Jesse is preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Elma Rouse, Bertha Forest, Celestine Redmon, Dorthy Seaborne, Betty Kilby, and Nora Jewel.

Cremation is planned. A private inurnment will take place at Hawcreek Cemetery. A memorial graveside service will take place on September 14 at 2 p.m. at Hawcreek Cemetery with a family and friends gathering following.

Memorial contributions may be given to Diabetes Association, Our Hospice of South Central Indiana, or Miller’s Merry Manor Activity Fund.
