Morris D. Nading, 76, of Hope
Morris D. Nading, 76, of Hope, IN passed on Saturday, April 18, 2020 at his home of natural causes.
Morris was born July 6, 1943 at Bartholomew County Hospital to John and Irene Nading. Morris graduated from Hauser High School. After high school Morris served his country with the U.S. Army and was stationed at Ft. Carson, CO with the 5th Infantry Division until December 1963. On June 21, 1964 he married Cheryl Hamilton and they were blessed with 55 years of marriage, three children, eleven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Morris couldn’t get enough of being with his kids and grandkids. He especially enjoyed fishing and camping with the family.
Morris worked for the family business, Nading Mechanical, for over 40 years. He was an outstanding worker and some clients such as White Castle insisted on having Morris lead any new building project.
But you can’t understand who Morris is without knowing first and foremost he was a man of faith who loved Jesus deeply. Morris loved to tell people about Jesus whenever and wherever. Some of his favorite verses were from Romans 10, “The Word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart, that is the Word of faith we are proclaiming; that if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” Morris served as the men’s ministry coordinator at Clarity Pregnancy Center and gave many hours counseling young men and encouraging them to choose Jesus and choose life. Morris was very involved in ministry at whatever church he was attending and most recently has attended First Baptist Church of Hartsville. His favorite hymn is “Blessed Assurance.”
Morris is survived by his wife of 55 years, Cheryl Hamilton Nading, daughter Kim (Dan) Lentz of Whitestown, IN, Christine (Dave) Winters of Syracuse, IN, and son, Mike Nading of Hope, IN; Grandchildren, Sam (Juliana) Lentz, Katie, and Grace Lentz; Hannah (Tyler) Costas, Natalie, and Isaac Winters; and Chelsey Nading (Corey Bland), Mika (Skylar) Hollin, Kennedy (Logan) Bland, David and Zoee Nading; Great- Grandchildren, Chrae Anderson, Capri Bland and Kinsley Hollin; Brothers Paul (Pam) Nading, Steve (Karen) Nading, Tim Nading, and John Nading; Sisters Delores Ault and Janet Smith; sister-in-laws Harriet Eisele, and Laura (Bob) Geiger.
