Robert (Bob) Burns, 73, of Columbus

Robert “Bob” Burns, 73, of Columbus, died Sunday Aug. 2, 2020 at his home.

Before retirement he had been employed as a delivery driver for Columbus Wholesale.

He attended the Free Methodist Church.

He loved fishing, NASCAR, and IU basketball.

Born Dec. 23, 1946 in Bartholomew County, Bob was the son of Fred and Pauline Heitz Burns. He married Tricia Pattingill January 9, 1971 and she survives.

Other survivors include daughters, Kim (Michael) Pedigo of Columbus, Kristy Bryant of Columbus and Kelli (Adrian) Jimenez of Columbus; grandchildren, Dylan Burnes, Kia Burns, Daniel Whitis and Joshua Burns; sisters, Betty Burton of Columbus and Margaret (Gary) Zeigler of Taylorsville; a brother, Charles Burns of Columbus and several nieces and nephews. Bob was excited for the upcoming arrival of his first great grandchild, Skyla Thompson.

A visitation for Bob will be Thursday from 11 to 1 p.m. at Norman Funeral Home. There will be a private funeral service with Pastor Barb Tuttle officiating. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Nathaniel Burns; a sister, Patricia Cooper; a brother, Jerry Burns and father and mother-in-law, James and Mildred Pattingill.
