Loretta Rose, 78, of Hope

Loretta Rose, 78, of Hope, passed away Friday, Aug. 21, 2020 at Miller’s Merry Manor.

Loretta spent most of her life as a housewife, but had worked at Clouse’s IGA and as a cook at the school and Dave’s Drive-In. She was co-owner of Country Store Potteries with her husband.

She was a member of St. Louis Crossing Independent Methodist Church. She enjoyed cooking, playing cards and board games with grandkids, taking care of her flowers, and going to garage sales. She was a good seamstress and could sew anything.

Born on March 7, 1942 in Russell Springs, KY, Loretta was the daughter of Weldon and Joyce Maxine Grider Warriner. She married William F. Rose on March 20, 1960.

Survivors include husband, William, of Hope; children, Deborah (Jeff) Linke of Columbus, Daryl (Kathy) Rose of Terre Haute; and Brian (Melissa) Rose of Columbus; grandchildren, Megan (William) Imel of Columbus, Rachel Rose of Greensboro, NC, Michael (Sloan) Rose of Evansville, Emma Linke of Columbus, Mary Rose of Terre Haute, Will (Erynn) Rose of Hope, Jacob Rose of Columbus, and Carson Rose of Columbus; and great-granddaughter, Olivia Imel of Columbus.

Loretta is preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Welby Warriner and Robert Warriner.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Norman Funeral Home. A private service will be held on Wednesday with Pastor Tim Dillingham officiating. Burial will take place at Hope Moravian Cemetery. Masks are required.
