Ronald D. Hatton, 70, of Hope

Ronald D. Hatton, 70, of Hope passed away August 18, 2020 at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

Born Oct. 8, 1949 in Indianapolis he was the son of Russell “Butch” and Kathryn Carpenter Hatton. He married Debbie Overfelt Sept. 20, 1974 and she survives.

Ron was a school bus driver for 32 years for Flat Rock/Hawcreek School Corporation. He was also a farmer, Hawcreek Township Trustee and was recently employed by Hope Warehouse. He had also been employed at Como Plastics where he was a Safety Director at Ideal Mold and a plant in Hickory, NC.

Ron was a member of The Sanctuary Church where he was involved in the Saturday morning men’s prayer group. He was a member of Hope Volunteer Fire Department for many years and had served on the Hope Town Council where he was president. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, loved baseball and basketball and was an IU fan.

The funeral for Ron will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday August 28 at The Sanctuary Church in Columbus. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to service time Friday at the church. Burial will follow at Hope Moravian Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Norman Funeral Home.

Ron is survived by his wife, Debbie; children, Christopher Hatton (Andrea Wallace) of Hope and Kathleen Hatton of Hope; grandchildren, Caitlyn Hatton (Kyle Richardson) of St. Paul, Jacob Hatton of Hope, Jonathan Hatton (Abby Hiatt) of Hope and Colten Hatton of Citronell, AL; great- granddaughter, Alani Hatton of Hope; siblings, Darlene (Harry) Harker of Hope and a brother and several nieces and nephews.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Butch and Kathryn Hatton.
